Yes, if the person who added the event set a reminder or two to be sent to the Group when that person added the event.  To see how you can do this, sign in to your Group.  Then click the Calendar link on the left-hand side of the page.  Then click the Add Event link towards the upper-right-hand corner.  Note that towards the bottom of the resulting page is a Reminders section; this is where to set what you're asking about.
