Calibrachoa to contest for the Grade 3, $150,000 Toboggan Stakes on 4thFebruary at Aqueduct 
The five-year-old Kentucky bred horse of Southern Image out of Fort Lauderdale, Calibrachoa is owned by Mike Repole, who owns Repole Stable and the horse is under Todd Pletcher’s training.
The horse has been pointed for the Grade 3, $150,000 Toboggan Stakes that will be raced on 4th February at Aqueduct over a distance of six furlongs on dirt.
In 2009, Calibrachoa came third in an allowance race at Churchill Downs on 28thNovember after finishing a miserable seventh in the maiden special weight at the Arlington Park on 27th September.
He started off the 2010 season with racing in two allowance/optional claimers, he was the runner up in the race on 14th October 2010 at Belmont Park, and then won the next start on 18th November at Aqueduct,
both were raced over six furlongs.
Calibrachoa continued with the winning streak that he stretched on till four. On 18th December 2010, he won the Gravesend Stakes at Aqueduct, and next won the Grade 3, Toboggan Stakes at Aqueduct on 22nd January
2011, which marked as his seasonal debut.
The second start of the year in the Grade 3, Tom Fool Stakes on 5th March, 2011 at Aqueduct resulted in a victory. His next three starts were failures with him finishing third in the first two and then landing one at fifth position.
He came third in the Grade 2, True North Handicap on 11th June at Belmont Park and then on 7th August at Saratoga, he came third in the Grade 1, Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap.
After getting defeated three times, he won the Grade 3 Bold Ruler at Aqueduct raced over seven furlongs. This was the first time that Calibrachoa raced a distance longer than six furlongs, and covered the distance in a minute and 21.32 seconds.
The last time that he raced was on 26th November, 2011 in the Grade 1, Cigar Mile that was raced over a mile at Aqueduct in which Calibrachoa finished third.
He will be making his seasonal debut on 4th February at Aqueduct. The rest of the line up for the race includes Dr Disco, Flat Bold, Rule By Night, Diski Dancer, Caixa Eletronica, J J’s Lucky Train and Candyman E.
