  1. I notice that most boxers have Califlower ear. Dont know any other causes of it.

  2. We are breaking down the cartilage (solid structure of the ear) and scarring it permanently.  The more times it swells and compresses the more likely you are to be left with some scarring and reshaping of your ear.

Watch out, once you drain the fluid you have a void in your ear one the fluid and blood is gone.  If you roll all over it, it may heal irregularly and you'll be left with lines, creases, bumps, knots or whatever your ear feels like doing once the healing process begins.  some guys are very unlikely in that their ears get smashed way too much or their ears simply like to cauliflower.  It's different for each athlete but long term all ears get some form of cauliflower damage form the repetitive abuse.

Head gear can help, but no body likes head gear.  Just watch it and try not to smash to often for a few days after you drain it.   with your training schedule if you don't protect those ears you'll be left with gnarled ears.  But hey a State champion or Olympic Gold Medalist isn't worried about having pretty ears.  ;-)

    I hope this helps.

  3. I imageing that it does slightly, but I never wrestled so I cant say how bad the condition to which it would be is.
