California Body Piercing??

I'm gonna turn 16 in 2 months and i went to a local tattoo shop...My mom was with me but as soon as we got there asked me for an I.D. and i was like " HUH?" then this chick said " you have to be 18 or older to GET your LIP PIERCED, It's a state law."

Isn't ok to get a piercing if your parent is with you?? and consents 100% !

Not all places have the same laws. Some places, the law is 16+ with parental consent. Other shops, like the ones in my county are 18+ only.

I got my belly button pierced. and I'm 12. I had my dad with me. I guess it depends on where you are. And what state your in.

with parent consent it should be fine just go to a diffrent shop maybe a drivers licence for your mom will prove she just not your older friend

it depends where you live because

if i want to get something pierced, i can go to the tattoo shop by myself and they will let me get whatever i want pierced

p.s I'm 16

but maybe just try a different shop

In CA, yes you can get pierced under 18 with parent's permission.  I'd look around at different shops.  Getting a piercing, although not a serious as a tattoo, is still a big deal.  They can be done wrong and lead to scarring and infections if proper sanitation is not practiced.  Shop around!
