California Girl determined to win Stayers Trophy
California Girl is fully determined to make a big impact in the Carling Maiden Stayers Trophy which is going to be held at Nottingham racecourse on Monday night, April 16.
The R. Senior-trained white and black b***h will struggle every nerve to maintain her epic winning record when she takes on her worthy rivals such as Mosquito Pilot, Lemon Minnie, Anfi Fantasy, Fabulous School and Fabulous Squall.
The high-stakes Open Race over a distance of 680 meters will commence at 19:48 (GMT). A prize cheque of £150 is ready for the runners.
Though each of the six contestants looks to be strong enough but California Girl has a big advantage over the others for the impressive track record she possesses.
Since making her debut in May 2011, the three-year-old young runner has been winning with regular intervals.
During February 2012, the daughter of Head Bound out of Shanless Euro bagged a couple of consecutive victories. The brilliant b***h moved ahead to grab a runner-up rank on March 16.
After getting 3rd spot in a race on March 23, the maverick sprinter excellently finished first in her last outing on April 11.
This excellent success streak has perked the b***h’s momentum to a great extent. Now, she is keen to capitalise well on this momentum to outpace her competitors in tonight’s showdown. She has more than 90 percent chances to finish first.
However, Lemon Minnie and Fabulous Squall have immense potential to trigger upsets in the race and California Girl will have to be wary of the both.
Lemon Minnie is on a hat-trick. G. Gray’s black b***h won a race with big margin each on March 31 and April 7, 2012. Prior to this, the daughter of Ballymac Maeve out of Lemon Abbey had achieved two consecutive runner-up ranks during the first two decades
of March.
On the other hand, Fabulous Squall elegantly grabbed top spot in her last start on April 6, 2012. The D. Firmager-trained brindle b***h’s career is marked with sheer consistency.
In this situation, the competition will be fairly fierce and close. The favourite hound will have to demonstrate a strong run in a bid to thrive. Good luck to all the contestants.
