Jury Duty is one of the only things you can do to make a difference in our government. You should not skip jury duty. Unless you're not very smart then by all means go ahead, no one wants you there anyway.

Ignore people here who feel you need to reprimanded.

If you can show that jury duty would cause an extreme hardship on you or that you care for an elderly parent or you have children under 10 yrs of age to care for...to name a few viable reasons to be excused from jury duty.

You will need to put these in writing and see if your reason if accepted by the judge, however.good luck.

Call them up and tell them that you cannot afford the gas to go there. I have for last two years. I got three and called and told them; What can they say? I will not take a bus, or a taxi. That is what I told them. Then on the card you have to check that it will cause a hard ship.  I refuse to do jury duty.  Most that have to have a jury are guilty. Oh,,,,wait I guess OJ wasn't guilty! (right)

My Religion Teacher used to be a lawyer, he talked to us about community service.

The only way you can reduce the jury duty or having no jury duty is to attend court again with previous community service done that was out of your own heart, not jury duty.

The only way you could do this is to come up with a fake previous record of community service and take that and this will most probably minimise your time serving.

They will fine you, as well as probably extra jury duty time.

You can delay the dury duty up to 3 times i think.

Christmas is a good time to delay it until, because most judges and others will be on holiday or absent.
