Question:

California Marriage Amendment?

Is there concerted effort yet in California to pass a constitutional amendment to define marriage being between a man and a woman?

Inasmuch as the People of California had already passed a ballot initiative that became law that properly defined marriage, It is outragious that a panel of judges usurped decision making authority and made a decision that was not their's to make. So much for having a democratic constitutional republic! For the left the rule of activist judges trumps the rule of law - and we are supposed to be a self-governing nation with representative government to create society's laws, right! Get with it conservatives, moderates and people of faith. Lets pass the constitutional amendment.

  1. Yet you have no problem with people voting on what rights other groups of people may or may not have.  Sounds like the beginnings of communism if you ask me.

  2. g**s and Lesbians should have the same rights and privileges as everyone else. Let's see.... who else can think of groups of people who passed laws restricting the rights of some people? lets see... the n***s, the USSR, Segregation in the south. Worked out really well for all of them in the long run.

  3. I'm from California, and I can see myself voting out the judges in question, since I agree this was NOT in the constitution (there were all sorts of marriage restrictions when the Constitution was adopted.)  I am against judicial activism.

However, I can't see voting for something to restrict by law the ability of two consenting adults to marry.

I think that isn't the proper role of government, at all.
