California Medi-Cal (medicaid) question?

A friend and i both see the same doctor both have medi-cal and recieve almost the exact pills. but only my medical only pays for 1 of 4 medications and they pay for all of hers. she says there is a program i think it starts w/ an A that she got on.It is still medical but not plain like i have. how can i get this type? i really need it. these meds are $$$$$ i need this type of medi-cal. does anyone know anything about how 2 get on it?

  1. There are 2 possibilities that I can think of. One is a program called AIM (Access for Infants and Mothers) Which is coverage for mothers and newborns up to 60 days after the baby's birth:

    This does not seem likely though, since the eligibility is such a short period of time.

    The other is that she has a Managed Care Medi-Cal that covers a wider range of prescriptions. Which ones are available to you depends on where you live and what your linkage is to Medi-cal.

    There is one called Anthem. That may be it. Ask your friend to look at her card and tell you what she has, then call that plan and enroll.
