California ONLY- Right turn on red question?

I'm taking my drivers test in a week and I have a question concerning a right turn on red. I know that I should stop behind the limit line, but if I cannot see past the cars to my right in order to see if it is safe to turn, can I move forward a bit and creep up to see?

  1. you can creep up to see to turn but that doesn't mean that you have to do it.  on my driving test i wouldn't do it i would just wait.  if the officer says anything about it just say something like "my parents have taught me to be a defensive driver"

  2. Yes. Make a complete stop behind the limit line...if you need to pull foward make sure you do it slowly incase there are pedestrians walking or a bicycle comming through the crosswalk infront of you. Also, you can get a ticket for sitting in a crosswalk...so pull foward...and then turn when safe...dont sit there unless you have to. Good luck man!

  3. Yes as long as you have made a complete and full stop for 5 to 10 seconds first..

  4. You can creep up after you come to a complete stop.

And they are crazy about complete stops.
