This has been bugging me: I bought a 2 liter Sierra Mist the other day, and in addition to CRV they taxed me. I don't recall bottles being taxed. Anyone can confirm whether they tax soda bottles or not?

  1. yes, they are taxable

  2. Foods that aren't basic grocery staples are taxable. And any bottle/can is subject to CRV as well. That's not new, maybe you just didn't notice it till now.

  3. yes, they do.

  4. Psh yea I bought a soda at the gas station today that said 99 cents and it rung up to $1.12 I was like d**n isn't it enough that I already just paid for expensive gas!?

But yea, that's why you recycle them ;]
