California Poppies?

I'd really love to use blue hydrangeas and California poppies in my wedding , but I haven't seen that its even possible. How long do cut poppies last? Would it be better to buy artificial poppies?

if they're your own poppies on your own land, it's not illegal. That said, poppies don't last more than a few minutes out of water without wilting, and even hate to be in planters or transplanted.

A way you could still have poppies at your wedding would be as a design element on things like invitations or place cards.
