got this snake, my cat was about to attack, got it in bucket. No idea what'll happen if it bites me, tried google searching for info but to no avail. It's appx 3ft long or so and 3/4" wide...brown w/thick white bands. Looks like a ca kingsnake and I'm in Sacramento.

  1. Kingsnakes are nonvenomous.  If he bites, it will break the surface of your skin (like a scrape, thorn, or catscratch) - that's all.  Keep the injury clean and you shouldn't have any problems.  Be sure to handle the snake gently but firmly.  Best thing to do is let it go somewhere where it can't be injured by your pet.

  2. Nothing, it is harmless. You will just get a couple of pin pricks, nothing to worry about. I breed them and have been bitten countless times.

  3. if it's a kingsnake and it bites you you probably wont notice it unless you are looking at the snake when he bites you...a kingsnake bite doesnt feel like much.

  4. Nothing.  Just if it latches onto you, dont yank it away.  Could cause a nasty little cut and its teeth may embed into your skin.  Just pinch it by the back of the jaw and maneuver it off of you.

  5. let it bite you, then let  us know what happens, that way everyone else will know what to do when faced with the same situation...Thanks!
