I am sixteen and have had my license for six months. My friends father tells me that if I have a note from my mother and my boyfriends mother giving me permission to drive him it is legal. But I cant find anything on the internet proving this. Does anybody know if its true?

  1. WOW HALF these answers are WRONG.

You have restrictions in place for 1 year after you get your license. Its CALIFORNIA LAW after Jan 2006 that your provisions are now a YEAR long, not 6 months.

You cannot transport ANYONE under 20 years of age at any time, for the first twelve months OR Drive between 11 pm and 5 am. As far as i know, you can only drive an immediate family member and that has to be with a note from your parents. So your bf cannot be in the car with you.

You can read up more about your restrictions right here, at the bottom of the page. http://dmv.ca.gov/dl/dl_info.htm#PERMINO...

^^its ALL there. Don't listen to people who say after 6 months your fine, your not.

  2. Its not.

    You have a license.

    You dont need permission.

But then again I dont think you are supposed to be driving anyone other than yourself..

Darn. I dont know. Im sorry!

  3. Wait 6 more months and you can do whatever you want........

  5. after having your licence six months, you can drive who ever you want. have fun, oh yeah and if you have to drive people around you should ask for gas money. trust me you'll need it, and bring some blankets, you'll never know when you will go the beach. stay cool.

  6. Call da cops ftw?

  7. I think since you are a minor you can't drive with anyone under the age of 18 for the first year that you have your license. NO matter what.
