California driving age???

i was wondering what the driving age for california is??? what age can you get your permit? please help???

i think it's 17. to get the permit.

You can currently get your permit at age 15 1/2. You have to take classes from an accredited driving school, or you can take courses at high school (if you're a student). You have to wait 6 months before you can take your driving test. if you fail the driving test before you're 18 you have to wait 6 more months.

If you're over 18 you can read the DMV manual to study for your test. If you fail then you can wait until the next day to take your permit test. Once you get your permit then you can take your driving test anytime. If you fail the driving test then you can wait until the next day to re-do it again. However, appointments take over a day to get.

You can get a permit at 15 and 1/2.  Thgere is a requirement of a certain number of hours behind the wheel with a certified driving instructor and a certain number of hours ofd practice before taking the driving test at or around 16.
