California small claims court question..?

i have been trying to ask the court but they are giving me the run around. can someone help me please? i filed papers on friday in california small claims court, and my sister moved from my aunt's house! where do i have the papers served? to her old residence? and how do i serve them? who do i give them to now? i don't know where she lives. is there a certain procedure? please don't answer saying you don't know. don't answer if you don't truly know, no 'i think..' i thank you bunches. :)

  1. I don't know about CA,  but in Indiana when you go to sign up to take someone to SCC you fill out the proper paper work and they give you a trial date and they contack the person that you are taking to court.  They usually find the person  


  2. i don't know the easiest way but i know you can hire a process server to do it for you---they will know what the courts will accept

  3. they require personal service by someone not a party to the case or related to a party.  You can get the sheriff to do it for a fee, or you can use a friend, but they are going to have to find her first.  If she can't be found with due dilligence, then courts have rules allowing for alternative service.  Dilligence, however, is going to require hiring an investigator or professional process server.

  4. You cannot serve her. She must be served by someone unconnected with the case.

    I'm afraid you're going to have to either track her down, or hire someone to do so.
