Call Back leads market for Novices’ Hurdle
Call Back is leading the betting market for Sika Liquid Plastics Pioneers “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle, a high-profile Class 4 contest that will take place at Kempton racecourse on Tuesday, April 17.
For the prize cheque of £2,599, the Donald McCain-trained bay gelding will daringly compete against 15 rivals including Laveroque, Bold Henry, Henry Hurst, Wood Bank, Catch The Fire, Roparta Avenue, Western High, Lord Grantham, Millers Glen, Princesse Katie,
Tarass D´alben, Bobby Dove, Hanahoe, Willy Be Lucky and Backhomeinderry.
Call Back has been impressive on various track since the very beginning of his career. The talented young horse made his debut in October 2011.
The four-year-old brilliant gelding broke his maiden on December 17. During the first three months of 2012, he delivered some outstanding performances.
After finishing 5th in a big race on January 1, he moved ahead to gain a runner-up rank in the very next race on March 1.
The D. Hanafin-owned maverick sprinter superbly clinched top spot in his last race on March 24. Overall, he has earned £5,862 so far.
Call Back is now geared up to show a big run in the Novices’ Hurdle. His chances to finish first are as high as 95 percent.
Among the other runners, Western High and Bold Henry are also likely to perform well.
Western High has won one out of his total 7 starts. The Jim Best-trained bay gelding grabbed 4th and 7th positions in two back-to-back races during March 2012.
On the other hand, Bold Henry earned a runner-up rank in his maiden outing on January 5, 2012. Philip Hobbs’ bay gelding stepped ahead to clinch 5th spot in the very next race on February 18. He finished 3rd in his last outing on March
24.
Come what may, success seems to be leaning towards Call Back. However, the hot favourite gelding will have to face some challenges during the race. This will make the competition interesting. Let us enjoy a thrilling action. Good luck to all the horses.
