  1. It was my first job and good thing I can hold my temper. Always remember that it's not personal because not matter how harsh the words that they tell you, they don't really know you. Tell your self that "They were not brought up with good etiquette", and "I'm the bigger person". And always put a smile. After you hang up, close your eyes and count 1Mississippi upto 10Mississippi.

Don't let it take you down and just let it pass. Always keep a cool head. Never stoop down to their level and be the bigger person.

  2. I understand your feelings.. I used to work in a call center for 3 years and I had done so many rude things to a rude customer... cant help it sometimes when you reach your limit... i did transferring to spanish dept, telling them to **** off ( i thought i put my mic on mute lol ), removed my headset and let them shout and lastly i pretended to be the supervisor ( i just slightly changed my voice lol )

You see these people have problems ok? just try to think that they are not mad at you but to the situation. No matter how they attack you personally just be professional as much as you can coz you know, you know better than them. They didn't call to tell you how great the day was now did they?

  3. I was feeling a bit depressed the other day so i called a helpline and,as is normal these days,i was put through to a call centre in pakistan. When i told them i was feeling suicidal they seemed quite happy about this and asked if i could fly a plane !!!

    Sorry,terrible joke.

  4. I get annoyed by call centre workers who can not speak clearly. There are also those that can't think for themselves and rely on a prepared written list of responses often choosing one that is not appropriate to your question.

When that happens suddenly say "Oh! my watch has stopped- what's the time" They then look at their own time and you can judge how many time zones they are ahead of you. Having done that, if it's 5 hours or more write to that Company and explain that you are having no further dealings with them. I object to my private bank details and bank statements being held in an insecure location the other side of the world.
