Call me crazy but i always confuse fifty by fifteen on the phone ! how to differentiate these two?

do you mean when someone is speaking to you? cause, yeh I get that too lol. And I'm not American (aimed at that person giving you abuse). When we sat down waiting for a table in a restuarant, we got told we had to wait 50 minutes, my friends were like oh yeh that's fine and sat down. I was like what? So I sat down with them and not long after we got called, i said 'that was a fast 50 minutes' and they all laughed and said it was a 15 mintue wait, not a 50! Oopps!

It's hard yes, but when on the phone just say, sorry was that '5,0 or 1,5' or emphasise the last bit, 'sorry was that fifTY or fifTEEN?'

Just repeat, "one-five or five-zero ?"

Instead of calling it "fifty" or "fifteen" say "five - oh" and "one - five."

..you have to keep in your mind that fifty is actually five and zero; and fifteen is one and five . . .
