Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 or Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim who
reigns supreme at the PC Charts?
The executives at Activision have probably filled a swimming pool with the money they have earned since the launch of their latest first-person shooter, Modern Warfare 3 as the game continues to dominate all the charts.
Yet, the PC gaming demographic is not the same as its console counterparts, which means that other games could potentially have outsold the best selling game of all time.
10. Anno 2070: preparing the world for managing life after global warming melts the polar ice caps and causes sea levels to rise and flood half the Earth is Ubisoft’s Anno 2070. It seems being surrounded by water has made the United Kingdom’s
gaming population a bit nervous as a fair amount bought themselves of the copy of the game.
9. Need For Speed: The Run: It may not have made the blockbuster start that its publisher Electronic Arts would have wanted for the latest iteration of the Need For Speed series, yet the game still managed to break into the top ten of the
PC Charts.
8. The Sims 3: Generations: this week sees a fewer number of The Sims titles in the charts however, like a rash that never seems to go away there is no completely getting rid of it.
7. The Sims 3: it feels odd seeing The Sims 3 so far down in the charts as one would usually find it in the top three if not the top five places, yet it seems that all Sims games must come to an end.
6. Saints Row: The Third: the game that has given need for a superlative to the word wacky, Saints Row: The Third is a unique gameplay experience that anyone can enjoy as long as they do not take the game too seriously.
5. Battlefield 3: the game that made almost everyone realize that PCs had overtaken the current generation of consoles in terms of power and memory, Battlefield 3 has seen a dip in sales since recent weeks.
4. The Sims 3: Pets: of course, no PC chart would be complete without at least one The Sims title in the top five and Pets was busy keeping the flag of its parent series waving.
3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: it may come as a shock to many but Modern Warfare 3 has to settle in at third place in the UK’s PC charts despite breaking sales records around the world.
2. Football Manager 2012: the fact that Sega’s football management simulation title managed to beat Modern Warfare 3 at its prime is a feather that Sega will be adding to their cap.
1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: it seems that PC gamers prefer dragons over guns as Skyrim tops the PC charts in an impressive showing.
