Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 pre-orders get Double XP!
Giving eager gamers another reason to pre-order the latest Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare 3, United Kingdom video game retailer, GAME is sweetening the deal by offering gamers a Double XP.
The offer is also available to gamers who pre-order the game from fellow retailer, Gamestation.
For those who were unfamiliar with retailers marketing strategy, the pair announced a ‘Classified Intel Pack’ earlier on in the year and the latest revelation is the final piece of the ‘classified’ bonuses which had not been announced for pre-orders.
Neil Ashurst, head of Public Relations at GAME, was rather enthusiastic when he said, “The build up to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is huge...We known how important multiplayer is to our customers so it’s great to be able to give them (a) double XP reward
in what is set to be the biggest multiplayer gaming experience of the year.”
A Brady Strategy guide and a SAS Avatar were the first two contents of the Intel Pack that were revealed with the latest reveal sealing things off. However, it should be noted that the Double XP will only entertain gamers the first five hours of online multiplayer
gameplay, after which they will be brought back down to Earth, albeit, with twice as much XP as those who did not pre-order the game.
Whether or not the announcement of the final feature of the Classified Intel Pack will boost pre-orders or not, remains to be seen.
However, that may be down to the fact that gamers who wanted to book their copies beforehand have already done so and those who are unsure whether to pick up Modern Warfare 3 or Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 3 will most likely remain unsold and unconvinced
by a mere five hours of Double XP.
It will be interesting, however, to see how the sales of the two games will stack up against each other when both games are released this holiday season, with Battlefield 3 getting a head start with an earlier release date than its Activision counterpart.
