Call of Juarez: The Cartel top of the UK’s PlayStation 3 charts for another week – Charts
For some odd reason, the PlayStation 3 charts seem to have a much more ‘hardcore’ look and feel, as one goes through the games which made the United Kingdom’s video game industry tick over the past week.
Not doing as well on the PlayStation 3 charts, as compared to the Xbox 360 charts, is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and before the reader asks, yes we are talking about the game.
Jabbing, hooking and generally just punching its way on to ninth position for the previous week is Electronic Arts’ Fight Night Champion. It seems like Amir Khan’s win in the past week did more than just win him a belt, it gave the sport a whole new set of fans as well, albeit, skinny, dorky, maybe slightly overweight fans who could not throw a punch if their lives depended on it.
Taking a single well placed shot from an incredible distance and shooting right between the two holes, yes two holes with one bullet, of the number eight spot is Sniper: Ghost Warrior. Though the downside is that judging by the sales it seems that when Battlefield 3 comes out it will be filled by the annoying, camping, kill hoggers we all know as snipers.
Riding the Hollywood effect, Cars 2 has raced its way to the number seven spot, falling behind the electric, InFamous 2. It seems Cole is refusing to run out of Juice as it remains a best seller even after having been released before E3.
With news of a Toy Story DLC and the number of user created levels reaching the 5-million mark, it only seems logical that Sack Boy should take up the number five position with the game we all Play, Create and Share, LittleBigPlanet 2.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is back in the top four after the recent Annihilation DLC seems to have breathed some life into the slowly stagnating game. Though expect gamers to flock by the millions when Modern Warfare 3 comes out in November.
For those of you who have noticed that there is a correlation between DLC releases and sales, well done, you are now qualified to be an Interactive Entertainment Industry analyst, as L.A. Noire has jumped its way into the top 3 spots of the chart.
Codemasters are sure to be smug after seeing Dirt 3 in the number two spot as their sublime arcade/rally racing game is still popular among fans, and deservedly so.
For the second week running the number one spot on the PlayStation 3 chart is Ubisoft’s Call of Juarez: The Cartel. Though gamers can expect the game to fall in the charts by this time next week, as the reviews for the game have, in general, been damning.
