Call of Juarez: The Cartel tops Xbox 360, oh and there is Zumba too - Charts
It is that time of the week again where we look back at the previous week of the movers and the shakers of video game sales charts, the PC and the Microsoft Xbox 360 charts to be more specific, to see what the general population in United Kingdom have been
up to.
Nominated for ‘Best Shooter’ in the Golden Joystick Awards and on the ‘Brink’ of falling off the number 10 spot on the PC charts is Bethesda’s take on the first person shooter genre.
Still riding the Hollywood effect is the video game tie in of the final movie of the Harry Potter series, unless J. K. Rowling decides to open a Hogwarts University, with Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows Part 2 still hanging in there at number nine.
Another nominee, for quite a few Golden Joysticks, is Call of Duty: Black Ops which is has fallen a few spots since last week, but any sale is a great sale for Treyarch and Activision at this point, seeing how close Modern Warfare 3 is.
It is good to see that Xbox 360 fans understand that Zumba Fitness is not worthy of worship, as the Kinect enabled, game squeezes in at the number seven spot. The jury is still out whether or not it is actually a game though.
Cars 2 is another game which is benefitting from the Hollywood effect as its publisher, Disney, will be satisfied to see it at number six. Word of advice, if the reader is over 12 years old, you might want to stay away from the game.
The manlier, grittier, tougher, in-your-face version of Zumba Fitness is in the fifth spot, as Electronic Arts’ UFC Fitness Trainer seems to be providing a nice alternative to the aforementioned questionable entry to the video game charts.
Still scoring goals and ripping friendships apart over online football matches, FIFA 11 comes in at number four. It seems all the marketing for FIFA 12 is indirectly boosting sales for the game, as gamers just cannot seem to bear the wait.
With the release of a few DLCs here and there and the best facial animations on any game, Take 2’s L.A. Noire is third on the charts after a resurgent week of sales. Though one can safely bet even the game’s detective protagonist cannot solve the case of
Zumba Fitness.
Making its way back to the number two spot is Codemasters' stunning arcade/rally racing game, Dirt 3. After a few weeks of declining sales, the game is back to getting the sales figures it deserves.
Finally, at the number one spot for this week is Call of Juarez: The Cartel. The game may not have hit the spot for critics but it seems fans seem to be enjoying it enough to get to the top of the United Kingdom’s weekly Xbox 360 sales charts.
