Question:

Callback or no Callback

I auditioned for a series regular role for a new tv show in mid-May and I felt I did a good job at my audition.

The casting director said that she intended to have me in for a callback.

I have not heard anything back and the show starts filming in late September.

What are my chances of still getting a callback?

  1. i agree with tonalc2, three months is very long to wait for a call back. if they thought you were perfect for the part the latest they wouldve waited is about a month. so sorry i dont think you got the part. i still wish you luck tho

  2. August is generally the casting month for TV series, so there still may be a chance.  However, three months is a very long time to wait for a callback.  I wouldn't hold my breath.

  3. depends, most casting directors are really busy, and yeah, they will probably give you a callback, but what ive found is when i nail an audition, and they say they will give me a callback, i dont beat myself up  about it, i just try to think positive, and when you put your desires into the universe, you have a better chance of getting them

  4. I have worked in a few casting offices and can tell you that callbacks are usually held immediately after the first round of auditions. Sometimes we would even hold callbacks the same day.

My guess is if you were going to be called back you would have heard something by now. However, it would not hurt you at all to drop the casting director a postcard ( ones that  are reproductions of your headshot are ideal) to say thank you for seeing you in May and if the roles have not already been cast you would love to still be considered. Even if the roles have already been cast your follow up will leave a good impression on the CD.

  5. Hi,

The Casting director remembers you in the next event he may call you
