I'm soooo scared. I had one a year ago and seriously, i thot it was very sore. I don't know if it's because i'm tence or because there is actually something wrong with me? Everyone says it's not sore so i just don't know.

How can i make myself less tence? Can i take anything or do anything before i go in?? I can't just make myself less nervous although i would love to! Any suggestions

  1. I am always sore afterwards.  To be perfectly honest, if you are that sensitive, relaxing may not help.  It is definitely worth a try.

I would try breathing exercises, you can practice before you go in.  Try slowing your breathing down to 7-9 breaths a minute or slower.  It really helps your body relax.

    Good Luck.

  2. THE FIRST LADY IS A LIAR, YOU DONT HAVE BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS, SHE HAS BEEN POSTING THE SAME ANSWER TO EVERY QUESTION...

  3. What works for me...close your eyes, take really deep breaths, try to think about anything other than what is happening at the time.  My gyno also tells me to relax my back and kind of sink down and that really helps.  It can get better!  I remember my first couple times being extremely painful, now its only the smallest bit uncomfortable.

  4. think about anything else. if you have a good doctor, then he/she will probably talk to you about other stuff while they are doing the procedure (school, work, anything fun coming up, etc...small talk). you really shouldn't be sore after this, if it's done right, but it has happened to me too. i'm in the army and while i was at training, we had to get this test done for our health records. the day i went to the hospital to get it done, there were about 20 other girls with me and the doc just wanted to get it done. it was painful cuz the doctor hurried and just shoved things in. he got the whole procedure and exam done in like 2 minutes when it should take about 5-6 minutes. maybe that's what happened to you - your doctor did it too fast.

ask your doc to take his/her time and then try to get your mind off of what's going on. i know it's hard to do that cuz there's a strange person between your legs, but at least try :) hope this helps!
