How did you or how are you wearing your hair on your wedding day? How did your bridesmaids wear their hair? I have a hair trial on thursday and I need some inspiration. Pics are helpful too if possible.

Thanks everyone.

  1. my hair is being grown out from the bob like look, so its at my shoulders and then in the back its layered and still growing, im going to pull al ittle on top half up and half down and put bunches of big curls! and then im wearing a little pearl and diamond tiara not big very cute!!

  2. It depends on what style your dress is. If it is plain, you don't want some ridiculously overdone hair style, or vice versa.

A fancier dress will most likely look better with an up-do, where as a simple dress will be awesome with a messy bun, low ponytail, loose curls/waves. How about waves with one side sort of pulled back with a flower or some other hair decor item?

this kind of shows the other side (before it relaxed down a little)

  3. Don't fight your hair's natural texture! I know my hair does not hold a curl, and updos have to be lacquered to my skull with a gallon of hairspray to stay put, so i'm wearing my hair side parted and pulled into a low ponytail. If you have naturally curly hair, don't straighten it, and if it's naturally straight, don't try to get perfect ringlets. The style won't last, and by the end of the night you'll end up either frizzy or flat.

The trend right now is either very sleek and polished: http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2007/st...

or soft and slightly undone: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h...

Part of your decision will depend on your hair's texture. Naturally curly hair may not cooperate with a style that requires super sleek strands, and an unstructured style may look limp with fine straight hair. Also, consider the style of your dress. If you have a very modern dress without lace or tons of beading, a smooth simple streamlined updo will coordinate well, and if you have a more romantic traditional gown, a softer, looser style will be a better fit.

Try a few different ideas, and don't forget to take your headpieces with you! If you haven't gotten a veil, or think you don't want one, borrow one from a friend or get a cheap one at walmart. Once you see it in the context of a hairstyle you may change your mind. Also, take your tiara, any barettes or clips you may wear, or silk flowers to pin in if you're going with flowers.

    Good luck and have fun!

  4. my wedding is in 22 days and i just cut my hair from just below my shoulder to chin length. not a big deal my fiance and i both like it short. I am wearing a tiara so I plan on making the top and front into a poof for the tiara and then I think flipping the bottom of it out.

When I was planning on keeping my hair long I was planning on making the front and top a poof with the tiara and then leaving the bottom half down with big loose curls.

I never could find a pic of wedding hair that I liked on line, so i just went to my stylist and had to try what she thought would look good one me and I actually loved it.

she is doing another trial run with my shirt hair the day of my bach. party. It works out perfect, a wedding day trial and I get to have my hair done for the party!

  5. I agree with going with your hair the way you normally wear it. I wouldn't wear it up if you don't wear it up a lot, etc. Be natural.

I usually wear my hair 1/2 back to keep it off my face, so I'm going to wear my wedding day hair down. It's long, so I'll curl it with a small barrel curling iron to give it ringlets. And pull just enough back off my face to pin up with a pretty crystal barrette or comb - to give the veil something to "grip" also.

Similar to Carrie Underwood's hair in this picture:

As for my bridesmaids - I'm asking them to also wear their hair natural - just how they do it everyday. Personally, I look like a boy with mine pulled up in a bun or something, so I wouldn't be happy if a bride asked me to pull mine up. You want your girls to be happy! :) They'll be so much more helpful that way.

    Hope this helps!! Good luck!!

P.S. I recently discovered a spray at Wal-Mart called: Got 2Be Glued - it's in a yellow spray can with white top and has a picture of a guy w/ spiked hair on it. It is the BEST hairspray to get hair to stay all day!! I was in a wedding the first of August and did the ringlets in my hair at 8AM for 11AM pictures and sprayed it with this stuff - the next morning the ringlets were still there!!!! Amazing stuff. And it doesn't make your hair look like it is sprayed at all.

  6. wear your hair fancier than normal....that's all.....you will be a gorgeous bride!

  7. I'm going for a chic bun with a few hair pieces falling off and framing my face =)

  8. My plan is to do a low chignon, as far as my bridesmaids I am not going to specify how they wear their hair.  One less thing I will have to think about.
