Calling All Horse people?

ok well.

I am just starting to go to training. And my grandma is the one who is taking me. My aunt Sarah is a perfesional rider at Cape Cod Farms. But anywho. she asked me what i wanted to do to begin with, (hunt seat, saddle seat, or western), if you hav ridden horses and hav showed u would kno that western is the slowest one u can chose from. I hav ridden all except Hunt Seat, and well....i dont kno which one to start with. plz leave a comment and help me! Im a beginer with TRAINING I just ride the way i think is right...so for a beginer wut would u say i should do????

While western would be good, if you start with english riding now, it will take you further in riding in the future. I have ridden english for 7 years, and I find it very easy to switch to Western or stunt riding, but I know that some Western riders find it harder to go to english!

If you start hunt first, you will probably learn things that will be more helpful when you get to riding bigger, and although hunters have some arguable things (half seat for me =S [im an eventer]) you will pick up the best habits to set you up for later!

A comfort western saddle is the best to start with.

Listen every one knows if you want to gain balance and continue riding in all arenas you should ride English for at least 6 months... you can feel the horse more the saddle is so much smaller... you can always switch to western, if you want to jump, hunt... English is the way to go, if you want to cow girl it western  is the way to go... barrels calf roping, 4h you have to try and decide but any trainer will tell you English.

Western is sooooo much more relaxed and comfortable. You may look into an Australian saddle, very comfy and they are similar to western saddles.
