Calling UK mobile in spain? READ?

I need to call a UK mobile, the person is in spain

and at the time i need to call them i will also be in spain

do i need a code? or something to put in front of the number?

Right category, but the answer also depends on your provider.

Ask or check the website of your mobile provider.

Some allow you to phone your normal numbers and will put you through without problems, others want you to put a special code before the numbers, and others again do not allow you to phone abroad at all.

When phoning you will either enter the extra code or just the normal phone number, with the +44 and drop the first 0 for an UK number to be on the safe side.

You will pay the fee for an international phone call, this can be rather much.

Your friend will receive the phone call from his own provider in the UK, him paying an extra fee for the international part of the call.

If both of you will be in Spain for a long time, or intent to phone a lot, look into buying a prepaid phone in Spain, each, that can work out much cheaper.

And also look what texting from abroad costs, sometimes it is way cheaper, other times it is impossible or expensive.
