If I were to need a 3-mile ride at 2am, how would I go about calling a cab and what would the fare be?

Look in the phone book for the area of Long Island that you are on.  There will be enough to choose from.

The person answering the phone will ask where you are and where you are going, they can tell you approx how much it will be.
