Hey guys.

I'm a twenty-year-old South African who supports the Springboks, obviously, and I was just wondering how you guys are doing after an early exit from the World Cup?

I hear the whole country stopped for pretty much a day or two in the wake of the game against France.

In any case, I hope you're all recovering nicely. :)

  1. yeah,

it's pretty sad here to be honest. A real shame everyones blaming the ref, makes us poor losers.

  2. every1 knows the boks have the hardest games to get into te final i mean fiji argentina whoa very hard games!

  3. Sucks to be us!!!!

    Good luck Springboks, play hard!

  4. Sunday was a bad day for me holden losing at bathurst was the final straw lol....but by Monday I was over it.  I would just like to the media to knock it off..... like always they over exaggerate every thing.

I'm now looking forward to the Netball World Cup in November!

  5. As far as we can tell the country didnt stop, probably just media hype

Some say it wasnt fair, Life is not fair, get used to it

Yea we were pretty gutted with result all you can do is get up dust yourself off and move forward   2011. We may be down but we are not OUT

All the best to you and the Boks

  6. Its was a bit of a joke any way, we got over it and started pointing the finger in random directions for someone to blame (the kiwi way) from what i hear the coach is being dumped and some of the big shots in the top office might be going after the failed campaign cost us 50m.

  7. you know we aint machines that just go out there and expect to win all games. THE ALL BLACKS ARE HUMAN!! we just found out when they lost. we probably did talk them up abit, but hey it isnt the end of the world!! it was shocking and sadd at the sametime. BUT I AM A FOREVER ALL BLACK DIE HARD!!

    GO THE SPRINGBOKz!!!

  8. hahaha yes the world has started turning again!! the diehard fans are finally back at work albeit a bit battered, bruised and red eyed not to mention analysis of the game (for some) will go well into the future!! the ABs will be back tomorrow (wed morning) in any case I/we are recovering well thanks for asking.... good luck to the supporters and bokkes play hard play well!!

  9. Oh bless you sweetheart.  It is wonderful that a young Springbok girl(I am a slightly less young Bok-ette) is concerned about the feelings of the Kiwis.  South Africans understand the pain as we share the Kiwi passion and pride for the wonderful game of rugby.  I too have hurt for the All Blacks, but this pain will pass guys!  See you in 2011.

  10. Im gutted & hurt still :(  i fell for the boys & my country & my people. Im a ex pat living in Texas.

Thems the breaks...could of been the final & lose to Aussie...OUCH!!!.

  11. yia and to make it worse it rained and stormed all day wednsday   the boys last sunday they just  ......they just didnt want it as much the french  you could see it they went into a shell ...... South Africa and ARgentina  going to ba real good game  outside the allblacks these two teams ma favrite teams always have been argentina because  there so far away and yet they play real good rugby and south africa because south africa plays real  physical and confrontational rugby    i hope argentina can come play   in a comp with all of us next year but the SA boys been on fire all year ever since the super 12  go south africa

  12. Hello there, we are all very guttered and its all self explanitory as to why etc...

Congrats to  SA for moving on and all the best, i think in some of the kiwi minds they are glad that aussie are out as well :P

take care and see ya 2011 :):):)

  13. Life goes on and the crusaders will win the super 14 next year!!

  14. This has just been a bad year of rugby for me personally:

    - My Super 14 team didn't make the top 4

    - My Air NZ Cup team lost the Ranfurly Shield, had a c**p season and didn't even make the top 8

    - The ABs lost to Australia (so much for that being a wakeup call!!)

    - Now to top it all off we lose in the quarter finals of the RWC

But life goes on. I've got more important things to worry about (like getting my thesis done so i can graduate). It's going to be summer soon! So better weather and I'll be getting into the cricket season. First game is in a couple of weeks, time to dust off my bat and gear up for a big season.

    Edit:

Yeh thanks Krice V that is actually really sweet :)

A few SA's have rubbed it in and been rude on this site but most of you guys have been really good.

All my South African friends in NZ find it hillarous how we make such a big deal over losing. My South African mates dad went on the net about 2hours after the game and searched "All Blacks 2007" on google. There were already 64 pages of results and they were all saying how useless our coach was, that our players are chokers and the referee cost us the game etc. It is kinda funny actually.

I am really gutted that we didn't win but going on and on about it will never change what happened. So what is the point of going on about it guys?

True champions admit defeat no matter how harsh it was or if they deserved it. Time and time again we (well the fans anyway) have shown that we are incredibly poor losers.

  15. heartbroken, dissapointed, in disbelief and just beginning to come out of shock.

still standing loud and proud however, ALL BLACKS!!!

the nz public is shocking, it hurts but the blame game won't do anyone any favours (except maybe with the ref, may he never control another nz international. please!)

and to all NZers, leave Graham Henry alone, his winning record of 87.5% is second only to Fred Allen for any All Blacks coach with more than 4 tests. hes done us all proud
