Calling all Mark/Avon Representatives!!?!?

Ok my mom is thinking about becoming a representative, we have a some questions.

1.Is it better to join with Mark or Avon?

~If i join with Avon can i sell mark, and other way around?

2. Why does it cost more to sign up to makerk (20) then Avon (10)?

~ What does the starter kit thingy come with?

3. Is there a max of Representativess that can be in a area?

4.I know you can buy samples, bag etc, how much do those cost?

5. Is it worth it if you will mainly just buy it yourself. With the goal to make money of it?

6. What kind of discounts do you rceiveve?

7. How much money do you put in every month/how much to you get every month.

8. Do YOU think its all worth it!?!

1.Is it better to join with Mark or Avon?

Avon -- with avon you can sell both... many reasons.

-first of all most of the makeup is cheaper in avon

-there are more things to sell in avon

-you can sell mark too, at no or little cost, depending on how many mark customers you have.

-mark is less popular in my area, I havent sold anything!

you can sell mark w/ avon but not avon with mark

2. Why does it cost more to sign up to makerk (20) then Avon (10)?

~ What does the starter kit thingy come with?

With avon the $10 covers your first two campaigns brochures, getting set up, some starter supplies depending on what specials are going on -- I got samples for the new fragrance, and two anew products. Order books, a cheaper style avon tote, 50 20 lb. delivery bags, etc.

3. Is there a max of Representativess that can be in a area?

not to my knowledge, and you can sell online

4.I know you can buy samples, bag etc, how much do those cost?

fragrance samples are 10 for $1.00, i could be wrong, but I think that avon has a wider selection than mark does.

5. Is it worth it if you will mainly just buy it yourself. With the goal to make money of it?

It is definately worth it to just get the discount, you get two months of half off most everything. Then after that you get atleast 20%, if you place your order ontime shipping is free. And there aren't really minimums... you just have to sell $25 to get the 20%, which isn't hard at all and that is after two months to find customers.

6. What kind of discounts do you rceiveve?

50% for the 1st 4 campaigns, after that it is based on what you sell.

25-144 : 20%

145-284:30%

285-424 : 35%

425-899: 40%

900-1549 : 45%

1550 + 50%

7. How much money do you put in every month/how much to you get every month.

Depending on your customer base and how many samples you want to buy its between 10-30... I get 60 brochures and 5 packs of fragrance samples for 20... and I buy too many samples, I am just really curious to know what they all smell like!

8. Do YOU think its all worth it!?!

I do... I have a nice time placing the orders, and delivering the orders. A little money and free product is a bonus. It really isn't a hassle and its atleast worth a shot... its only 10$ to start to see if you like it and with that you get a good deal of time to use a 50% discount, plus even better deals on products that are about to be released.

I am a mark. only rep and I love it. No deadlines or minimums like Avon and you have a set discount for everything.

~If i join with Avon can i sell mark, and other way around? Yes if you are an Avon rep you can sell mark. But it does not work the other way. mark. only reps cannot sell Avon.

2. Why does it cost more to sign up to makerk (20) then Avon (10)?

You can actually sign up for mark. with an Avon District Manager in person, and pay just $10.

The $20 is welllll worth it considering the huge discount you get on all products.

A little mark. bag, 4 hookups, and an intro dvd

3. Is there a max of Representativess that can be in a area?

NOPE

4.I know you can buy samples, bag etc, how much do those cost?

They vary from $1-3. Fragrances usually come in packs of 10 for $1. You also have to buy the magalogs which go for around 1.25 for a pack of 5 and get cheaper depending on how many you buy.

5. Is it worth it if you will mainly just buy it yourself.

Yes. The discount is awesome.

Ehhh it takes a lot of work to make money from mark. You have to buy a lot of sales tools and buy the products to wear as advertisement.

mark. reps get a straight 40% off on beauty and 25% of non-beauty (clothes, purses, etc)

7. How much money do you put in every month/how much to you get every month.

Ohhh don't even make me count... I spend hundreds of dollars each month on mark. stuff for myself.

8. Do YOU think its all worth it!?!

I love the community of girls that are on the mark. forums. And it takes my mind off of all the other stress in my life.
