Calling all canadians?!?

Question

Are we as a country too close to the USA? Use three specific pieces of evidence to support your view. ^_^

well... yes

1:  we have like 6000km border with them so physically way too close but not much we can do about that!  Finding an empty space on the planet to move Canada might be a problem.  Geez look at Israel and Palistine fighting over a few meters of desert. Could you imagine the uproar if we tried to move the whole country somewhere else!

2: Cultural too close.  As soon as we churn out someone good they are snatched by the US, over exploited and over exposed and then due to tax law they all become americans to add insult to injury!!  The exception of course is Bare Naked Ladies.. they'll never be snatched from us ....DOH!

3:  Langauge wise.. too close.    I write things properly like colour and neighbourhood and say things like "Zed" and US people not realizing the slightest thing about Canada give me flack for not using spell check and not knowing my alphabet!  

Altogether too close for comfort..  

This doesnt include other too cozy relations but again; whats the alternate!:

- our military integration

- our financial bank (and personal info) integration

- our dependence on NAFTA and trade integration.

Then again there are way worse countries we could be caught in orbit around !!

Overall, while Canadians complain about the USA, like you would complain about an overly colorful neighbor that has a loud party now and then, overall, considering the number of trips Canadians make to the USA, there is no other country we would rather be next to. Canada and the USA are two countries divided by a more or less common culture.

2. Too much dependency on the it as an export market. (Around 70-80%)
