Question:

Calling all ice skaters! Twizzle help??

i can't quite find that sweet spot. i can get consistant doubles on my right foot. but on my left...haha. pointers?

  1. Hi, I'm an ice skater, and I'll say you should stay on the ball of your foot. Start doing it slowly, then slowly get faster!. You just need to practice and you'll master it!

I have trouble with twizzles on my left foot too.  Try holding your foot in different positions (even if they aren't considered "correct" necessarily, you can always change the position once you get the hang of it).  Also, remember to just do one turn at a time.  Don't rush yourself by thinking about the second turn before you even finish the first one.  It may also help to experiment with your arm positions.  Hope this helps!

  3. A good pointer is to start slower, then go faster. Do them very slowly at first, so that they are double three turns. Practice them as you warm up skating around the ice. You might be able to practice performing back spins on the left foot too. Good Luck and with practice you can master anything!
