As there's only one term left, is it worth going to Clarks or should I get them something cheaper to last them for the last term? I really can't make up my mind! What would you do?

  1. Your children should have a decent pair of school shoes.  It shows that school is important.  You could even use this to have a talk with your children about how much you value school and how important it is that they do their best.  Then go to Clark's.

  2. i was in this situation last year. I actually got very lucky and found a near new pair  hardly if ever worn of high quality shoes at a thrift store.  It worked out great!   I'd do that again in a heart beart.  Plus paid only 99cents.

  3. I would get them the cheapest pair possible.

  4. i would take them to payless. they have cheap yet affordable shoes! no more than thirty dollars! i have gotten more than half of my shoes from there and whenever i ask to get new shoes i most of the time check payless first to see what their deals and shoes are. check out their spring collection!:

I hope i have answeres your question to your satisfaction!

  5. something cheaper- there's only one month left of school

  6. A term is long time in terms of children's growing feet.  I would always have their feet measured and get them good shoes.

  7. Don't go all expensive like Converse or Puma's or something. Try going in the "lower" prices. If other's say to go big, think of it this way. They probaly won't wear them during the summer, they might just only wear sandals or whatever you think is appropriate. People might also say to buy them know, but think of it this way. They will grow out of them before the next year even starts, so, what's the point?

    Good Luck! =]

  8. I would do what I can and nothing more is expected of any of us. Just do right by your children that's all.

  9. Either way you go, the shoes will be nice for school and last this last term.  After that they will  be good play shoes for summer break.  I have 3 boys, 2 which are in school.  This late in the year I tend to aim for a pair of walmart sneakers to get through the last weeks with if they are in need, then they wear them out to play during the summer break (sandles for us are for going out or to the beach, I prefer the paly in sneakers to protect their feet).

I usually buy one nice pair and 1 walmart pair before school starts, the nicer is for school and the walmart pair is to play.  For Christmas they get a new nice pair of sneakers and the nice ones from sept become the play shoes (the walmart ones from sept are usually in need of replacement by now also).  The shoes from christmas become play shoes in the summer if they last.  So far this has worked well for us.

  10. For just one term I´d get something cheaper but make sure they are good enough - the effects of bad shoes can last a lifetime.

  11. i have this at the moment, in september i paid fifty quid a pair from clarks and they had scuffed them to death by xmas so i paid a tenner at shoe zone for a pair and they have lasted til now,so i know where i will be spending my cash this week!

  12. try brantos

  13. I would go to clarks everytime. It's April when they go back and although they got holiday in May they don't actually finish until July so they'll get the wear out of them.

I know they can be pretty expencive but out of my 3 mates that i went to school with, i was the only one with Clarks shoes and i'm the only one that hasn't got bad feet!!!!

  14. I have to say Clarks is always the winner. the shoes are nicer and look more posh. If your school is one based on stature then you need Clark's' shoe's. If your school is in the depths of state school status then shoe zone with a can of boot polish does it nicely. the choice is yours. ! ! =)

  15. Good feet verses bad?? You decide...

  16. I would just go to PayLess.

  17. Go to Brantano, they have clarks, hush puppies etc (all the big names) but much cheaper, they are great and your children can be measured properly and have great shoes and you have more money left in your pocket !

  18. if your kids are anything like mine get the cheaper ones.my 5 year old girl is wearing her 6th pair since after christmas cause she just wrecks them.their just as good as clarkes i find brantanos are reasonable and have a good selection

  19. I wonder if i'll ever get this way about my daughter.. She's only 4 and doesn't ask for much.. the most she'll ask for is an ice-cream and even then she just gives me the look cause she's unsure if it's okay to ask.. or if I'll just snap back that we're broke.  LOL

  20. It really depends on the age of the child.  My 6-year-old is growing out of her shoes every 3-4 months, so I wouldn't buy an expensive pair of school shoes for her at this time of year, since she'll most likely be a different size when the new school year starts up this fall.

But my 12-year-old has slowed down in growth quite a bit at the moment, and I'd probably be willing to spend a bit more money on her shoes, since she'll probably be wearing the same ones this fall.

You might also want to consider a shoe like Birkenstocks, because the open back allows kids to wear them a little longer.
