how did you get back into shape after your baby? mine is 12 weeks and am wanting to get fit again,how do you go about it?

  1. Breastfeeding, walking, drinking lots of water, wearing my baby in a carrier.

    My 2nd daughter is 5 months old.  I've lost all but 6 pounds of the 25 I gained with this pregnancy.  Still have a bit to go for my ultimate goal though.  I dont want to be as skinny as I was prior to having my first daughter, but I want to be in better shape than I am now.  I recently bought Wii Fit, and am really enjoying it!  My favorite is the step areobics!  By the time I'm done, I've worked up a great sweat, but feel energized rather than tired!  

    Just remember that it took 9 months to put the weight on, so it will probably take at LEAST that long to get it off.  And even if you lose all the weight, your body will still probably be different.  For me, my hips and ribcage are wider.  No matter how much weight I lose, they will still be spread out a bit more and I wont be able to fit into as skinny of clothes.  Oh well, at least I have b***s now, LOL

    Just take it in small steps.  Make little healthy decisions on a daily basis.  Reach for yogurt, fruit, or a veggie, instead of the potato chips.  Have some nice cold water instead of soda.  Cut fruit juices out of your diet.  Switch to a lower fat milk.  Baby steps.  The key is finding a routine that you can live with for the rest of your life.  Otherwise, if you try a fad diet or exercize, you will gain the weight back as soon as you end it!  Gotta find something you can stick with long-term.  Just create simple and healthy living habits.


  2. Ahh yeh, that's a tuffie there.  I see a lot of ladies out walking, maybe you could go for some walks.  Maybe with some smaller weights (the one or two pound ones) to swing your arms with.  Just little things, It won't all come at once, but you'll do fine there.

Breastfeeding, walking, light exercise.  If you have the money, Curves is a great gym to join for women.  I gained over sixty pounds during my pregnancy (18 months ago), and I actually weight less now than I did before I got pregnant, plus everything is toned.  Start out with the walking though.  I would just take my daughter with me, either in the stroller or in the sling- about thirty minutes a day.
