  1. What is loaded in your computer is a type of Spyware.

Spyware programs can collect various types of personal information, such as Internet surfing habit, sites that have been visited, but can also interfere with user control of the computer in other ways, such as installing additional software,

Redirecting Web browser activity, accessing websites blindly that will cause more harmful viruses, or diverting advertising revenue to a third party. Spyware can even change computer settings, resulting in slow connection speeds, different home pages, and loss of Internet or other programs.

Scan your System with a Spyware free software then on your browser click Tools, Internet Options, change or type a Homepage, then click Privacy, click site then type address of redirected site then click Block.

  2. try deleting all your temporary internet files

  3. Your "friend" ???

Volunteer Shoeless gave your good advice.

    Also

I want to give you a way to keep your "friend" off your computer:

FIRST go to Control Panel > User Accounts >

and For the Administrator Account set a password > and

For your Own account set a password

Make it a very strong password that has letters and number and is 15+ characters long.

    Use compound words, or non-words

    Example:   OldFav16yoLab

DO NOT FORGET this password, as it can not be broken.

For all other accounts DISABLE THEM.

    Next:

    1) Protect your computer from being hacked.

    2) Temporarily Disconnect your computer from your ISP connections, so that neither you or anyone else can access the internet, when the computer is on.

    3) Restart your computer.

Go to MyNetwork Places > click View Workgroup Computers > delete ALL that are not yours or your family

    4) Go to Control Panel > Windows Firewall >

a). tab General > click option ON

b.) tab Exceptions > Unclick everything except your email, or other services you approve like your game site, or Scrabble, or those you KNOW are legitimate

    c.) tab ADVANCED > Services >

Very Important:  UNcheck Remote Desktop > and any other you are not using.

    5) Run the AVAST program do a thorough scan.

    6) Allow AVAST to continue to run at all times.

    Link to get Avast below.

    As above:

    7) Go to Control Panel  >User Accounts

Disable all accounts that you do not use.

Set a password for the computer log-on (Administrator) and for all other user accounts give passwords.

    8) Set a password for access to your desktop:

Right click a blank space on your desktop > selelct PROPERTIES >

tab ScreenSaver > IMPORTANT: You must select a screensaver

then check the box " On Resume Password Protect"

and set the number of minutes you want for the screen to pop-up requiring log on.

I have mine set to only 3 mintues.

    9) Reconnect your computer to the internet access.

    Restart your computer

    10) get this tool:

    Avast free Home Edition

    Get it here:

    http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.ht...

And please do a "thorough" scan as soon as you get it downloaded. The user interface is simple. Click the left side, and in the top menu that comes up, select thorough scan.

When it finds a culprit DELETE, (do not quaranteen).

Then allow it to run all of the time, and you will be completely protected. It will "automatically" update itself, also for free.

You only need to renew your registration once a year, also free.

I've tried them all, and have had wonderful results with this one for the last 5 years.

    ====================================

When all that is done, your computer will be effectively privatized.

    ^j^

  4. Do exactly as Heart advises, gotta be the best answer I've seen for a while.

I could not suggest any further measures except that I'd install Spybot Search and Destroy as well.

  5. The first place I would look is your hosts file.

    Browse to this folder: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Double click the file called hosts.  When it asks you what program you would like to open it in just choose notepad.

If there is a line in that file that has myspace.com in it just delete it.  Usually the only line that should be there (unless you know what your'e doing) would be 127.0.0.1 localhost.  Anything else can usually be deleted.
