Question:

Calling all "over-due" mommies!?

Yes, I know it's called an estimated due date for a reason, yes I know he will come when he's ready, and yes, I know no one is pregnant forever, but still! Today is my due date, and absolutely nothing has happened... :( What can I do naturally to help my cervix thin, dilate, and move down? Not castor oil and such, I've tried all of them to no avail, lol. Are there exercises that help? Also, what are you doing to keep your mind off of being "over-due"? Thanks!

  1. Evening Primrose Oil (put in vaginally) and s***n both help soften the cervix and both are natural :-)

Squats will help but more pressure on your cervix.

Cleaning, organizing, shopping, educating yourself on how labor an delivery works are all good ways to pass the time.

    Congrats on this new little.

  2. i was one day over due and i constantly walked to help it may seem pointles when u have a vaccume but sweep the carpet it works the muscles over and over again clean the house from top to bottom... stay active as long as possible this is what i did and it helped

  3. s*x and walking...not helping for me though.

I'm actually only 38w6days.  I am so thankful I have a c-section scheduled on Tuesday because I am really done being pregnant this time!

Good luck.  Try eating some ice cream and nachos and reading a good romance novel.  It probably won't make labor start but at least it is something enjoyable to keep your mind off the waiting!

  4. You're not alone .... ím 3 days away from my due date .... and nothing happened :-) no contractions, no B.H, no pain ^_^ ... and i cánt get my mind off of being "over-due" ím very excited and reallllyyyy want to see my baby ... so i know how you feel ... but nothing we can do now ... my OB will induce me on Thursday .....maybe you can ask your Dr to induce you too :-) ..... Walking should helps ^_^

  5. Not that I've had a kid, but I come from a BIG family, so these are the tips I've heard/seen.

    1.  If it's your first baby, don't hold your breath, he really will come when he's ready.

    2.  Do kegels to make labor easier.

    3.  Have s*x with the baby daddy--sometimes that can trigger contractions.

    4.  After a couple weeks, I'm sure your doctor will talk about inducing.

  6. I tried everything too, and I ate super spicy salsa, (ALOT), the day before I went into labor.  I don't know if I was going to go into labor regardless, but it can't hurt to try it.
