Calling all surfers!!!!!!!!!!!SKEG HELP????

Question

ok well my skeg for my long board is broken. I need to know where to fix it on Oahu because my Aunt is going to fix it there for me. So do you guys know anywhere? If not a local surfshop do you know the name of a common surfshop that I can just drop it off and get it fixed cause I dont know how to fix it.

Also what kind of difference does it make. I have been surfing with out it for 3 days and have been getting exhausted. am I just out of shape from not surfing in a while or is it the skeg????

Well, for starters, I can't believe you have been surfing without your "skeg". I had buddies with old, hollow hardwood boards, with no skegs, and the only way you could really turn them was to drag one foot in the direction you wanted to go.

Is the broken appendage really a "skeg" like under a classic, antique longboard? If it is, what kind of board is it? (Not that I could afford to buy it from you and ship here).

I haven't heard the term skeg since the 70's. If your aunt knows how to fix it, more power to her. Relax. Just have it fixed. For you young guys, it's a longboard fin. 50 cents says John F knows what a 'skeg' is.

How the h**l have u been able to surf with out the skeg, with out sliding all over the wave?  How do u stay straight???  Well id say dontt bother getten it fixed, just go buy a new skeg.  There fairly cheep and you might find one better for your board.  Id recommend, idk the name, but its a fairly large skeg with a tube in it that looks like a jet.  It may look stupid, but it speeds up your long board a ton, and gives you a great bite in the wave.
