  1. I would never announce to my class that a student got their period.  Most of the time my students will come up to me and whisper that they need to use the restroom.  I try to keep pads in my desk for any emergencies.  The counselors at my school also keep pads for students that may need one.

  2. If a student got thier 1st period during your class and was unsure of what was going on and how to deal with it, then it may be good to privately give them a pad (that should be kept in your desk just in case)... and send them to the nurse's office. It may be ok to tell them that they got thier period, but dont get into details. Most girls today are getting them earlier and earlier so they probably know what it is by now. Their parents should be called just in case a change of clothes may be needed.

  3. Well im a student.

And that would be really awkward.

If your a good teacher you would know not to do that.

  4. usually  it happpns a couple of times a year- a kid comes in and needs to leave. they simply say i go to the bathroom and take  purse with them (  high school)

  5. I am a student, I would be extremely embarrassed if my teacher announced that to the rest of the class. it's a pretty personal issue, which is why students don't just raise their hand and in front of the whole class say, "ms./mr. can i use the bathroom, i have my period". i think it's best that you keep it to yourself and if any of your students ask, tell them it's personal.
