Question:

Calling back a restricted number?

Today I received a threatening phone-call from a restricted number, and would like to call the person back. I've asked everyone that I know about it, and no one knows anything. The caller was someone I knew, so that makes it a little bit easier to find out who it was, but I would like to be able to find out without having to get the authorities involved.

  1. Call the phone company. They will know.

If it continues, you can ask the police and phone company for a line trace.

If you get a answering machine with a audible line beep (so you stay legal) record the call. Do NOT record a conversation without consent of the police or you could find yourself in trouble. So check with legal aide or the community police officer in your area.

  2. You are out of luck

It happen to me when I got my phone number changed to an unlisted one and the operator giving it to me

Inadvertently gave me one digit wrong

I had to go the the phone company office and show ID to prove I am who I said I am before she gave it to me my own phone number

And then she could only wright it on a piece of paper not say it out loud.

So just think what you are trying to do if you are trying to get someones else's unpublished Phone Number

    It's the law

  3. They have e thing called call trace, But in order to possibly ably get the number or find out it is you have to file a complaint with the police dept. & phone co.

  4. Unfortunatley there is no way to find out who called you without either calling the phone company or the police.
