Calling china from new zealand?

i wana call my son from new zealand to china because he hasnt txted me and i get worried very easily, and i dont know what numbers to put infront of his cellphone number! can you please tell me what they are or what website i can check?

Make sure the phone is 3G.  That screwed me over when I went to England in October.  I had a Nokia 6810, was showing it to everyone at Cingular/AT&T none of them said anything to me about needing a special sim card to get a reception overseas.  So once I landed at Birmingham was ready to call my parents, turned on the cell, and... no bars.  If you don't know, here's what my parents did to reach me.  Called the hotel I was staying at and e-mailed me constantly hoping I would answer.  Once you do reach him, find a friend (experienced with being a tourist in China) that knows where to find a good international phone card over there.
