Calling out to work....?

Question

I want to call out to work tomorrow because i want to go out with some friends. I put my two week notice in with my work last week, and my last day is next friday.

I just wanted to know if what you guys use that have found to be great "get out of work" excuses! oh and i work in a retail store.

No negative comments please..i just need some help!

If you put your two week notice in, it is not as critical to come up with the best excuse.  You are not trying to invest long term in this company.  You just don't want it to be so obvious that it is too awkward.  How bad do you need a good reference?  Do you have a good standing at the retail store?  I have called my work place when I needed a personal day and said I was feeling very sick and unable to make it to work today.  I would not give too many specifics.  I would also say that if anything came up they needed my help with they could call me at home.

You may not want to offer the call home thing if you are gonna be out.  Good luck with finding a new job!

Tell them you don't feel well/going out of town/etc, anything works you work in retail...most people put in their two weeks and just don't bother showing up anymore.  What does it matter anyways?  doesn't sound like a serious job.
