Calling "All Cross Stitchers"......HELP!!!?

I'm a beginner in cross stitching;and have just begun a project.

On the graph in grey;upon grey there is a symbol~ "/",which I think means a half cross stitch...but in the color key there is no symbol or color for this symbol on the graph chart.before this"/"symbol there is a skip in space Can someone seriously tell me what this "/" symbol means?...HELP!!!

  2. it means a 1/2 stitch, I do alot of cross stitching, & this is always on my charts. I do the prestamped, prequilted, baby quilts.

  3. It's possible that your symbol divides the square in half, meaning you would do a quarter cross in one color and another in a different color. It would look something like x / * or maybe

    # \ @. If there is no other symbol or color, is it possible that the / represents your outlining? Hard to tell without seeing the chart.  :-)  Good luck.
