In a house game, the rules at the beginning of the game stated that "you must call the pocket that the eight ball goes in". It was a partner game (2v2). There were no of our balls left except the 8 ball, and my partner was the one shooting (player a) and i was the one not shooting (player b). Player a, makes the 5 ball (the last ball of ours that was on the table) and player b points to the corner pocket and said this pocket to player a. Player a says that pocket and pionts bbut the other team say they did not hear player a, player a then sinks the eight ball cleanly and the other team says player a did not call the pocket. what is the rules?

  1. Tell them to clean their ears out.  Only a donkey would try to call a foul like that.  And if the shot was obvious I would make sure anyone who played them knew they are donkeys so the same thing didn't happen.  The way I am, I would actually make them look like fools if I had a chance in the same situation by calling every shot very loud and running out.

  2. i would think it would come down to a "sportsmanship call" it would be player a's call. maybe try using an object to mark the pocket so no confusion (other than chalk or money)
