Wigan Athletic striker Callum McManaman recently signed a new contract with the English Premier League side, which will now keep him at the club until the end of the 2013 season. The 20-year-old Englishman has been very impressive this term and is by far
the most talented player to be promoted from the club’s youth system.
Despite suffering a head injury which kept him out for the better part of the season, McManaman has managed to impress everyone in just eight appearances for Wigan this season. So much so that Wigan boss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468 had to offer the young striker a new deal
in order to keep him at the club for the upcoming seasons.
Martinez told reporters, “Callum has continued to progress this season and we are delighted he has now signed this new contract. Callum represents a real example for every youngster at our football club."
The Wigan boss added, "Technically, he's a very gifted player with a natural raw talent and over the last 10 months he's developed immensely, tactically and physically.”
Rennes midfielder Yaan M’Vila denies Arsenal link
Yann M’Vila, the 20-year-old Rennes midfielder, has denied reports linking him to a move to English Premier League side Arsenal in the upcoming summer transfer window. The player has been compared to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Vieira-c29316 and is a target for some of the top European
sides.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the player and has been keeping an eye on his development this season. He is keen to bring him to the Emirates Stadium in hopes of freshening up his squad at the end of the campaign.
However, the player does not seem interested in a move to Arsenal, claiming he is happy with the Ligue 1 side. The youngster insisted he intended to honour his contract with the French outfit, which is set to expire in 2014.
While talking to reporters, M’Vila said, “I'm in no rush. I'm only concentrating on my football. My agents are already talking with the president and I am calm. I like to live the present and at the moment, the only certainty is that I have a contract signed
here until 2014.”
M’Vila made his senior debut with Rennes in the 2009-10 season and since then has been a regular for the side. He has made a total of 74 appearances for the club in all competitions and has scored three goals.
