Question:

Calves problem?

hey, i do sprinting and whenever i do any sort of event, even in training or sometimes when im walking for a long time...my calves ( and shins ) begin to hurt really badly...i do, do warm ups for them but thing is when i run they dont bother me at all tbh, just afterwards or before hand..anyone got proper warms and/or hints ?

  1. Sounds like shin splints...happens to the best of us!

    Ice, ice, ice!!

    And simple shin excersizes:

    Sit in a chair, have a cup with marbles or pencils on the floor and pick up the marbles or pencils with your feet and put them into the cup.

    Or simply write a word or name in the air with your foot, flexing your shins while doing so.

    You can do it in class, and won't look wierd!!

    But technically there's no real cure for shin splints...

  2. ok yo my coach told me this and i think i know your problem. Ok so you wanna stand up and lift one of your legs up like 5 inchs or whatever and then you wanna try to make you toes touch ur ankle or calf or what not. Do these like 10 sets for five seconds each.

  3. eat bananas! eat one before you run. the potassium helps get rid of the shin splints and calve muscle cramps.
