Cam Gears?

Ok i have a few question...

1. are they ok for the engine if the vehicle is driven daily?

2. Daily Drivability?

I'm assuming that you are talking about replacing your cam shaft gears and belt (or chain) with a "gear drive".

First off, most after market gear drives are annoyingly noisy.  Second, if you don't buy a high end one (expensive) then you're asking for problems.  There are quiet gear drives available.

If you buy a quality gear drive set up, it will be fine for everyday driving.

OK,,, I have a few answers,,,

CAM GEARS,,,, used to turn the cam shaft from the rotating crank shaft.  The whole idea is to make sure all the thing-y's in the engine work together, in the right order, at the right time.

Some makes and models of cars come with cam gears stock,,, and others use a timing chain or timing belt.  

Unless you are compitition driving, go with what ever came stock in your particular car.  If you are going for the ultimate horse power machine, etc..... the swap to gears will not effect the daily drivability more than all those other modifications you must have made to get the gear/belt/chain question.
