Cam someone please explain CM ( cervical Mucus)

i thought you are sup to get egg white right before ovulation but i have had creamy white like lotion since the 7th and dry the 5 and 6 but today the creamy was almost non existant. i thought that yesterday it may have been a little strechy but not alot.

If yesterday's was already a little stretchy, you might find that it gets better today. Remember that ovulation is around 14 days before your next period, but it can be 12 or 16 days, so maybe your ovulation is a little later than you thought. Not everyone gets stretchy CM; everyone is different, and you can increase your CM levels by keeping well hydrated. Isotonic 'sports' drinks are very good for this (if you like them) or straight up water. If you find that you're not getting any watery or EWCM after a few months, consider PreSeed or Pré.

Generally - your CM is dry during your unfertile phase, after your period and until the days before ovulation. During the fertile phase (days leading up to ovulation), CM changes from dry to sticky to creamy to watery to egg-white (right before and during ovulation). After ovulation, CM again dries up.

Now that is just the theory and each woman is different. Some women never have watery CM. For some others, watery CM is all they have, it never gets to Egg-white CM. For yet others, EWCM lasts after ovulation for a day or so, and in some women CM is present right before you get your periods.

And this could vary from cycle to cycle although some consistancy is usually present. Hence, CM is only a secondary sign of fertility. We need BBT or OPK to pinpoint ovulation with surety.

Ovulation could be delayed due to many reasons like stress. Don't worry, keep having intercourse if you are trying to get pregnant, until you are sure the fertile phase has passed. It could take around a week for dry CM to turn to EWCM. (Again, depends on the woman).
