I have a Fidelity digital camera. I filmed a few movies on it, and tried to make an iMovie out of it by using my Mac laptop. I plugged the camera in to the Mac by using the USB cable, and the the computer registered that there was new hardware found. I opened iMovie, and clicked import videos. There were pictures in the folder of my camera (pictures i had taken with the camera), but the movies, which were shown as img 0072 to img 0092, were shown as blank pages. When i double clicked on them, a large page of text and symbols came up. Help! I need these videos for a project and i dont know what to do. I tried the videos on a pc and they worked fine, but i need to use movie making software like iMovie. What should I do?

  1. This is a flash memory based camcorder that stores highly compressed MPEG2 video. iMovie cannot use those files directly.

    Download and install StreamClip:

    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/vi...

    This is a free utility.

Import the MPEG-2 file to StreamClip, export as .mov or DV file. Then import to iMovie.

  2. make sure that your camera is mac comp in videos

  3. You need to contact Fidelity support for Apple compatibility!!
