Camaro performance... Shaking a bit?

I got a 90 camaro 305 tbi, 164,000 miles, anyways the car has a limited slip I believe, its not posi. Whenever I am at a dead-stop and push the gas to the floor, sometimes it will shake the entire car even the console. I dunn what the problem is, it's got brand new tires, It may be trying to find traction perhaps? The engine is not all that strong with all those miles. But it will still spin a wheel somewhat. How can I eliminate this problem of it shakes when trying to accelerate very rapidly?

  1. probably wheel hop caused by bad shocks

  2. I don't think the tires are the problem as they are brand new. I think the problem may be a busted motor mount. At full open throttle with a busted motor mount or two, it can make the entire car shake.

If that isn't the problem start checking the shocks/struts and all other suspension components and replace as necessary. Also check the limited slip differential to see if there are any pieces that need replacing.

  3. First check motor mounts, then your transmissin mount, and check u-joints, and all bushings in the rear, check shocks and if needed replace, and if thats not it id have your drive shaft looked at to see if it is still balenced,

  4. well it might be coz the tires are fresh and are generating traction,it should get it after a a few miles,or maybe ya limited slip could be waring out,its got a 164,000 miles on it anyway which is a lot...or maybe ya just need to adjust the shocks to more tension,a loose shock could cause some problems in fast acceleration, conering and braking...check if ya need new shocks though...
