Cambushmore favourite to win Islandbridge Open Semi-Final
Cambushmore poses to be the hot favourite contender for the ace title of The 2012 Peggy Kellys Islandbridge Open Semi-Final. The G. Holland-trained black dog is likely to demonstrate a decent run when he runs at Harold’s Cross racecourse on Friday night, May 18.
Breaking from the blue box, the veteran hound will run against Lodgefield Snap, Lead The Line, Knockglass Billy, Big Casino and Cashen Chris on the flat track of 324 yards. The Open Race is scheduled to start at 21:16 (GMT).
Cambushmore delivered some outstanding performances during the last couple of months. After bagging three triumphs along with two runner-up ranks in March, the brilliant sprinter moved on to finish first in a big race on April 14.
The three-year-old runner gained a runner-up position along with an epic victory during the first half of May.
On the basis of these glaring feats, the bookmarks have placed him at the top of the betting card for the Semi-Final contest. The talented son of Head Bound out of Maryanns Venture has gained the favourite tag for the third time in a row since the dawn of this month.
Cambushmore’s chances to finish first will be as high as 93 percent provided he manages to sustain his stamina throughout the track.
Among the other hounds, each one of Big Casino and Knockglass Billy will perform well in today’s showdown.
Debuting in July 2011, Big Casino excellently won the first three races of his career. The Devlin-trained black dog went on to bag two consecutive triumphs. He finished as a runner-up in his last outing on May 14.
On the other hand, Knockglass Billy gained two runner-up ranks in a row during April 2012. The G. Holland-trained black dog proceeded to finish second again in his last outing on May 14. Now, he is eyeing on the top spot.
